Reading the site
You can read The Michigan Review without an account. We don’t run advertising trackers. To show our “Most Read” list, we count page views per article; these counts are not tied to you, and the site does not set a cookie to do it.
The newsletter
Newsletter subscriptions are handled by Substack. When you subscribe, your email address is shared with Substack under its privacy policy and used only to send you The Review.
Staff accounts
Writers and editors who sign in to our editor dashboard have an account with their name and email address. A session cookie keeps them signed in. These accounts are invitation-only.
Embedded content
Some articles embed videos, audio or social media posts. Those services may collect data according to their own policies when you interact with them.
