About the Review
The Michigan Review is an independent student publication at the University of Michigan, founded in 1982. Its writers and editors are undergraduates and graduate students, and it covers the University, student government, Ann Arbor and the wider debates that reach campus.
The Review publishes news, analysis and opinion. We are committed to free speech and open inquiry at the University, and our opinion pages are open to writers who disagree with us as well as those who don’t.
What we publish
Reporting on the Central Student Government, the administration and University policy; commentary on campus, state and national affairs; sports coverage; and long interviews in our Conversations series and The Review Room podcast. Everything we have published online is in the archive.
How we work
Stories are reported and written by students and edited before publication. Opinion pieces are labeled and represent their authors’ views. We correct our mistakes and note the correction on the article; our standards page explains how.
