And when rules become unreasonably unjust, whether or not they are followed becomes no longer a reflection on the perpetrator. You can almost hear Thomas Jefferson bellow from his grave: “If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so.”

Hebdo and Progressive Hypocrisy
Does the content of the Hebdo cartoonists render their murder any less tragic? In either case, the social justice crowd should recognize the parallels and understand why many defenders of free speech and Hebdo are upset by accusations that Hebdo was “kind of asking for it.”
Fiscal Conservatives Should Support Marriage Equality
Which brings us to marriage, which, at the most fundamental level, is simply a contract between two individuals. No two people, regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender, should be prohibited from voluntarily agreeing to a contract. The government’s interference in this case manifests itself in the form of the tax benefits married couples receive that two people in a non-marital relationship do not receive.
Die-In Demonstration: Style over Substance, Divided by Race
A couple hundred University of Michigan students staged a “die-in” protest Wednesday afternoon, laying down on the diag for approximately an hour, impeding other students trying to get to and from class on the final day of classes. Joni Ernst. Shelley Moore Capito. Mia Love. Elise Stefanik. They’re all victors of Tuesday’s midterm elections. They’re all women. Oh – and they’re all Republicans. For those of us who knew the ‘War on Women’ was a manipulative election gimmick from day one, these victories are unsurprising. However, one can assume that liberals who banked […]
Students Pledge to Shut Down Campus if Minority Enrollment Doesn’t Increase
Disgruntled students at the University of Michigan have declared an alleged drop in minority enrollment a “national scandal” and representative of “the new Jim Crow,” and pledged in conjunction with community organizers at a recent strategy meeting on campus to “kick this university’s ass” and “shut the campus down” unless minority enrollment increases. The comments […]
Che Guevara was evil.
That doesn’t stop Occupy UMich from proudly displaying a quote from him on their Tumblr page. And that doesn’t stop hundreds of students from wearing his iconic profile on their t-shirts, often without a clue to who Che really was. It is very ironic that on a campus that stresses individual expression and diversity, there […]
